Arteon Consulting is Hiring a Temporary APM Operations Technician – Operations and Maintenance Near Orlando, FL

Summary: This position is primarily responsible for performing onboard monitoring of vehicle speed and braking characteristics on airport automated people mover (APM) systems within the limitations of standard methods and procedures and Company Guidelines. Provide observation and onboard riding responsibilities to Technician(s) - Operations and Maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Attentive onboard monitoring of vehicle speed & braking profile for the passenger service APM’s.
  • Attentive onboard monitoring for long durations and providing cycling relief with other shift team members.
  • Communicate over public address system and two-way radio systems.
  • Provide emergency evacuation assistance in accordance with APM standard operating procedures.
  • Working from oral, written, or electronically generated instructions and perform skilled operations within the APMsystem.
  • Document all activities regarding work performed on the systems. Complete documentation in prescribed format and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct vehicle recovery activities as required in a safe and timely manner.

Other duties may include:

  • Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements. Notify supervisor/manager of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Tools and Equipment used: Minor maintenance procedures if required under direct supervision of qualified maintenance personnel. Power tools and hand tools are necessary to perform maintenance services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability required:

  • Must be licensed to operate a motor vehicle and have a satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be able to secure and maintain airport security clearance.
  • Must be able to pass post offer criminal background check.
  • Must be able to pass post offer pre-employment drug/alcohol test, physical exam, and Ishihara test (Red Green), as well as all required drug and alcohol tests administered during employment.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English language fluently.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts and the risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
