Artemis Provisions and Cheese is a new, unique customer experience in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. Customers will shop in our meat and cheese retail storefront, as well as dine in our restaurant named Taste by Artemis. Customers will have access to local meat, cheese, charcuterie accompaniments, wine, gifts, and more! Our seating area connected to the retail space gives diners a diverse menu to "taste".

Artemis Provisions and Cheese is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Retail Meat Counter Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality meat products and exceptional service to our customers. As a Meat Counter Associate, you will be responsible for preparing, displaying, and selling a variety of meat products while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service:

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting meats.
  • Provide information on various cuts, cooking methods, and storage.
  • Weigh, package, and label meat products according to customer requests.

• Product Preparation:

  • Cut, trim, and prepare meats such as beef, pork, poultry, and seafood.
  • Use equipment like knives, saws, and grinders safely and effectively.
  • Ensure all meat cuts meet quality and presentation standards.

• Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and replenish meat counter displays.
  • Assist with receiving deliveries and inspecting the quality of products.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and report any discrepancies.

• Sanitation and Safety:

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines to prevent contamination.
  • Regularly clean and sanitize tools, equipment, and surfaces.

• Sales and Promotions:

  • Display products attractively to promote sales.
  • Inform customers about specials, promotions, and new products.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a meat department or butcher shop preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
• Proficiency with meat cutting tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
• Attention to detail and precision in product preparation.
