Arroyo Vista Family Health Center is a network of four federally qualified community health centers and a mobile clinic established in 1981 and located in Los Angeles. We provide comprehensive, quality, primary, specialty, and urgent health care services in a compassionate, linguistically appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner regardless of ability to pay. Our services include medical, dental, optometry, radiology, ultrasound, mammography, laboratory, pharmacy, behavioral health, and health education. We are affiliated with local hospitals and specialists. We are accredited by The Joint Commission for ambulatory services and certified as a Primary Care Medical Home. We serve as a clinical training center for medical and nurse practitioner students through our affiliation with local universities.
Our mission is to meet the current and future health needs of greater Northeast Los Angeles by providing high-quality, comprehensive, and affordable health care services in a compassionate and financially responsible manner.
Responsibilities
The Family Physician will provide medical care to pediatrics through geriatrics, including examining, diagnosing, preventing, and treating, illness, disease, and injury. The physician will examine or conduct tests to provide information on medical status, analyze records, reports, test results, and/or examination to diagnose the medical condition of the patient, prescribe and administer treatment, therapy, medication, and/or vaccination. The physician will explain the diagnosis, procedures and discuss test results on prescribed treatments with the patient and advise patients concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention. The physician will collaborate with other physicians and mid-level providers. The physician will participate in medical and interdisciplinary clinical committees. The physician may participate as a preceptor for medical and nurse practitioner students. The physician will perform other job related duties as required by departmental needs and demands.
Qualifications
· MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school and completion of accredited residency program
· Board certified or board-eligible
· Valid CA state license, DEA, and BLS
· Ability to work well with others in a professional manner in a team-oriented environment
· Knowledgeable of, competent, and compliant with Electronic Medical Records
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable
· Valid CA driver’s license, access to an automobile, and state-required auto liability coverage
