Job description

  • Role: Lead, Subcontracts
  • Duration:Full Time
  • Hybrid (Needs to be onsite 3 days per week)
  • Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana

Multifaceted position requiring expertise in various areas such as procurement, contract management, negotiation, and risk management

Responsibilities:

  • Subcontract Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of subcontracts, including sourcing, negotiation, execution, and closeout, ensuring alignment with program objectives and customer requirements.
  • Contract Types and Negotiation: Demonstrate advanced knowledge of various contract types (e.g., fixed-price, cost reimbursement) and possess strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Technical Expertise: Review technical Statements of Work (SOWs), collaborate with engineering teams to ensure clarity and feasibility of requirements, and manage technical aspects of subcontractor performance.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations such as FAR/DFAR, ITAR, EAR, and International Trade Compliance. Mitigate risks associated with subcontract execution and implement strategies to improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Return on Investment (ROIs).
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with various departments including Contracts, Program Management, Finance, Engineering, and Quality to facilitate smooth subcontract execution and resolve issues effectively.
  • Business Development Support: Assist in business development activities by initiating subcontract processes for new pursuits, evaluating potential suppliers, and conducting due diligence assessments.
  • Problem Solving and Analysis: Utilize problem-solving skills and data analysis to address challenges and drive continuous improvement in subcontract processes and performance.
  • Intellectual Property (IP) Management: Ensure compliance with IP and patent requirements, collaborating with technical teams to identify and protect intellectual property rights.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings within supply chain operations, proposing changes and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Travel: Be willing to travel domestically and internationally as required to support subcontract activities.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Professional Experience: At least 7 years of experience in procurement, subcontracts, contracts, program management, engineering, quality, regulatory compliance, legal, government compliance, and/or finance. Experience with project management and MRP systems software is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel (including pivot tables, V-lookup), and PowerPoint. Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
  • Clearance (Optional): While not required, a DoD clearance is desired for this role.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, customer focus, adaptability, and a commitment to quality are essential qualities for success in this role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
