Role Overview:
As a Direct Support Professional, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their potential within the community. This specific job will require you to work with individuals who exhibit difficult behaviors. Experience working with people who have disabilities is required.
Responsibilities:
● Provide transportation to and from residences and community activities.
● Provide positive behavior support according to their plan.
● Engage in physical support tasks such as bending, assisting with lifts (if applicable), pushing, pulling, reaching, and prolonged walking.
● Assist service recipients in goal setting, documenting progress, and evaluating their development daily.
● Fulfill additional tasks delegated by supervisors.
Required Skills:
● Punctuality and reliability are crucial.
● Strong advocacy skills for others.
● Proficiency in guiding, motivating, and directing individuals.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality.
● Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
● Basic proficiency in computer and phone usage.
Qualifications:

● Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
● Preferred training in mental health and first aid.
Requirements:
● Valid driver's license.
● Access to a working vehicle with a clean driving record and active insurance.
● Completion of orientation and annual training sessions.
Schedule:
● Part-time or full-time opportunities available.
● Flexible morning and afternoon shifts.
● Weekly hours ranging from 20 to 30.
Compensation and Benefits:
● Salary: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour (based on experience and performance)
● Signing Bonus: $500 distributed upon meeting specific milestones
● Health, dental, and life insurance for employees regularly scheduled for a minimum of 24 hours per week.
