Arrowhead Central Credit Union is Hiring a General Ledger Specialist Near Rancho Cucamonga, CA

The General Ledger (GL) Specialist performs complex research and reconcilements related to Finance, Loss Prevention, and Card Services; ensures/maintains the integrity and accuracy of journal entries, balancing, account representation, and reconciliation; provides daily support of financial functions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Personally, provides exceptional member service; uses Service Standards in every work-related interaction.
  • Actively participates in meeting the goals of the department and the Credit Union.
  • Provides excellent service by using a positive and professional tone to assist callers and Team Members accurately, thoroughly, and as efficiently as possible while maintaining consistent and friendly service.
  • Uses organizational tools and techniques to complete tasks on time and successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Provides general ledger support and analysis, including period-end financial close responsibilities in ATM, Debit and Credit Cards, Loss Prevention, and Shared Branch activities.
  • Responsible for daily/monthly account reconciliation processes, timely reconciliation, and adhering to all corporate standards and guidelines for related general ledger accounts.
  • Maintains an accurate and current accounting ledger that reflects the transactional reality through timely posting of all required items.
  • Research inconsistencies and out-of-balance situations and provides guidance to related departments, ensuring that all transactions are correctly posted and reflected in the GL.
  • Responds timely to GL questions and support to related departments.
  • Ensures accurate and timely period reporting that complies with the Credit Union requirements.
  • Prepares various statistical and regulatory reports as required.
  • Researches and clears outstanding GL entries in a timely manner.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements innovative solutions including, but not limited to, GL posting processes.
  • Exercises sound judgment when making decisions.
  • Provides supervisor with timely updates on the status of all assigned projects.
  • Works closely with other team members to effectively manage workload and gain exposure to multiple finance and business disciplines within the organization.
  • Actively identifies opportunities for streamlining and rendering service delivery more efficiently and participates in special projects.
  • Develops written processes and procedures for specified duties and disperses updates to appropriate department staff in a timely manner.
  • Promotes a harmonious work environment that motivates others towards team participation.
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Graham Leach guidelines, as well as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
  • Maintains a working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC), and complies with all laws/regulations applicable to area of responsibility. Completes all required and assigned training modules by established due dates.
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor/department leadership as necessary to achieve the goals of the Credit Union and the department.

The pay range for this position is listed below.

Starting pay for successful applicants is generally within the minimum to midpoint of the pay range. Our consideration for pay is designed to support career growth and development over time. Offers extended depend on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to individual experience, knowledge, training, education, geographic location, market demands, and internal equity.

Pay range:

Minimum: $20.44/hour | Midpoint: $25.56/hour | Maximum: $30.67/hour


Experience

Required
  • 1 - 3 years: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field of study is highly desired. One (1) to three (3) years of practical work experience in a related environment may be substituted for a degree. Similar or related experience in a financial institution, preferably a bank or credit union, is required.
