ARROW ELECTRIC is Hiring an Electrical Superintendent Near Pittsburgh, PA

Role and Responsibilities

A Superintendent plans, directs, or coordinates, through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the electrical construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. They may oversee multiple job sites’ organization, scheduling, and implementation. Other duties may include:

· Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.

· Work with Foreman to complete Jobsite Punchlist Checklist at the end of phase and at the end of the job (form provided and will be in job file box). Report to Project Management

· Work with Foreman and Project Management to review Owner’s needs and confirm manpower.

· Verify that all Foreman are completing the required:

o Keep at job site until requested or at end of job: scope of work, material requisitions, daily logbook, daily job checklist, daily safety checklist, safety report card, jobsite orientation form, meeting minutes, purchase orders, repair tags, specifications, jobsite punch list checklist

o Submit to office weekly: weekly progress reports, time sheets, weekly expenditures, time off requests, toolbox talks, packing slips, shipping slips (trucking) attached to applicable packing slips, extra work authorization, RFI’s, subcontractor time sheets

· Ensure hard hats, safety glasses and ear protection are worn when/where required. Ensure subcontractors and Arrow Employees comply with OSHA and safety meetings/practices.

· Assist Project manager to plan, schedule, or coordinate construction project activities to meet deadlines.

· Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, or other regulations.

· Assist Project Manager and study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods or more cost-effective methods.

· Assist Project Manager to investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper construction procedures are being followed.

· Notify Project Manager of any conflicts, extra work authorizations, or change orders. Assist with detail BOM and scope of work.

· Develop or implement quality control in the field.

· Adhere to safety procedures (Code and OSHA Requirements); Perform safety inspections.

· Report to Project Manager any customer or public complaints. Assist in a resolution as needed.

· Work with Forman to build trust with GC/Owner and other trades by communicating, getting work done, good housekeeping, and having the job coordinated properly.

· Other additional related tasks and duties as needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent.

Associate degree or further education in a related field encouraged.

5 years’ experience as a journeyman/foreman plus managerial experience.

Minimum of OSHA 30 completed.

Work Environment Working Hours

This job operates in a field environment. Electricians may be involved in construction or maintenance usually work a 40-hour, five-day week plus overtime when required. Working conditions can change dramatically from one job to another, varying from indoors in clean conditions to outdoors on scaffolding, and to confined and restricted locations. May require working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions; exposure to contaminants and exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.

Working Hours: 7:00am-3:30 with ½ hour unpaid lunch. Early start or overtime may be required.

The office role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Pay rate: based on experience level

Physical Demands

This is largely an active role. Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials; Requires repetitive movement; climbing ladders, scaffolds, or poles; standing, walking, and running; using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls; and bending or twisting.

The office is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
