Position: Accountant

Location: Tampa, FL

Pay: $27.65/hr

Experience: 3 years of experience in accounting that included auditing, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and/or payroll or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting

Type: Full-time; Temp to Hire

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

HH Staffing is seeking an Accountant to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

• Monitor cash from receipt to deposit in the bank, to ensure proper and timely deposits
• Prepare journal entries for miscellaneous cash and checks received for various reimbursements, refunds, and expenses
• Prepare budget reports, make corrections to coding, and answer questions from site managers
• Audit property budgets, reconcile and correct errors with tenant security deposits and rent payments
• Prepare initial annual budget for assigned properties and make revisions as necessary
• Assist with the preparation of the monthly financial statements using Excel and Yardi software
• Prepare reports of uncollected tenant accounts receivables, by site, propose for bad debt write-off, and send for management review
• Prepare trial balances and related reports and statements
• Maintain and reconcile pre-paid expenses schedule and post-related re-occurring entries monthly
• Participate in FYE closing by calculating and preparing accrual postings for FYE adjustments
• Other accounting or departmental duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Valid Florida Driver’s License Insurable under the agency’s insurance policy
• Public housing experience is preferred
• Yardi software experience is highly preferred
