THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST(INFOSEC) (T32), Position Description Number D2487000and is part of the AL DCSIM JFHQ, National Guard.

Qualifications:
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military grade in the Alabama Army National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Alabama Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Basic Requirements
This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience.
Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1- year of specialized experience at the next lower GS-grade or equivalent. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. The employing agency is responsible for defining the specialized experience based on the requirements of the position being filled.
SUPERVISORY POSITIONS SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THIS POSITION:
Responsibilities:
1. Serves as the principle advisor to the G6/J6 Director and the respective staff on the latest industry and technological projections as they pertain to Cyber Security / information assurance for the network enclave infrastructure. Develops policies for organization deployed throughout the headquarters. Must anticipate the effects of new emerging technology and develop policies to control it to prevent security violations. Duties include oversight of ATCTS and accreditation of all systems IAW with all command, Army, and DOD security directives, policies and procedures. Ensures that all elements are in compliance with guidance concerning accreditation of automated information systems, risk management, control of computer viruses, and other similar issues. Ensures that a wide variety of security incidents are investigated and reported IAW with allcommand, Army, and DOD security directives, policies and procedures to include: computer viruses and sanitation of highly classified information from organization. 30%.Full Time
