Army Installation Management Command is Hiring a Security Guard Near Fort Hunter, CA
About the Position: TERM position not to exceed 4 years. Position MAY be extended in one year increments up to 8 years and may be converted to a permanent appointment without further competition.
Qualifications:
Competition for Security Guard positions is restricted by law to persons entitled to Veterans preference so long as such applicants are available for appointment. If there are no Veterans preference eligibles available, non preference applicants may be considered.Who May Apply: US Citizens
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes work with federal, state, municipal, or private protective organizations performing facility access control measures, granting access to persons and vehicles with appropriate authorization, operating physical access control equipment such as barriers or other tools to secure buildings or access points, safeguarding personnel, information and critical assets, preventing theft, damage and trespass through enforcement of security policy or regulation, recording visitor information to determine if appropriate authorization for access exists. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Acceptable experience includes service in the Armed Services or Coast Guard that involved the performance of guard duties on a regular or intermittent basis. If using military experience to qualify, please ensure this experience is noted on your resume. Showing affiliation with the military will not be enough to support qualifications.

- Physical Security
- Security Equipment Operation
