Location: 1401 N. Hobbie Avenue, Kankakee, IL 60901
Controls Engineer Salary: $87,000-$111,000 based on experience (Gr. 10/11) $5,000 Sign-on Bonus Opportunity
Status: Salary Exempt
Hours: Flexible Schedule (Team of two Control Engineers determine a schedule that works for them while providing coverage)

Building with Integrity

  • Design and develop all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery
  • Performs electrical systems engineering, including electrical power capacity studies, monitoring of the electrical power grid for outages, disturbances, and other emergencies, participating in the resolution of maintenance and warranty issues for electrical equipment, and maintaining the plant-wide as-built electrical system single-line drawings
  • Prepares drawing packages, specifications, documentation, and equipment-information packets as necessary for job completion
  • Prepares capital appropriation requests for electrical systems, which include capital estimates and equipment descriptions
  • Analysis of project purpose, benefits, and alternatives considered
  • Specific design responsibilities will cover all classes of standard industrial power distribution up 4160 KV, as well as control, instrumentation, and engineering responsibilities
  • Maintain documentation of the site electrical/electronic drawings and schematics to ensure the integrity of the system

Adapting Together

  • Work with and support efforts for the development and implementation of the site PLC control systems and variable speed drives
  • Provides support to Engineering on new projects throughout the facility

Reinventing Through Resilience

  • Assist in the pre-commissioning and startup of new equipment/instrumentation
  • Maintain and assist in the installation/modification of electrical/electronic control systems by working with process operations, engineering, and vendor personnel

REVEAL EVERYTHING

FOUNDATION:

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5-10 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineer and 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Allen Bradley experience
  • PLC & Automation Controls
  • AutoCAD Experience
