UX/UI Developer

Description

ARC is hiring an experienced UX / UI developer to oversee an ongoing effort to design and implement modern, consistent user experiences across an array of user interfaces for an IoT-based product offering. This role requires gaining an understanding of the types of users our solution serves: warfighters, logistics personnel, law enforcement, private security, and commercial users. The UX / UI developer will collaborate with product management, software engineers, and other stakeholders to generate wireframes and mocks for design approvals. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with industry standard design tools including, but not limited to, Figma. This role has front-end development responsibilities. Candidates should be familiar with one or both of React (for web) and Jetpack Compose (for Android). 

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to learn more about our product’s users and write personas for each target user 
  • Use customer feedback to iterate and improve on designs 
  • Capture and analyze usage patterns of UX features for data-driven selection of new designs 
  • Build and maintain a UX design element repository for mock development 
  • Design original graphics and graphical elements 
  • Write and maintain UI code for web and/or mobile graphical interfaces 
  • Write user surveys to help drive UX requirements 
  • Support consistent UX experiences across multiple UI domains including user-facing documentation 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

This position will require access to restricted information and facilities protected under U.S. laws and regulations, including the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). Please note that any offer for employment will be conditioned on any required authorization to receive access to such restricted information and facilities necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position.
Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. Citizenship to meet federal government security screening requirements required for this role. The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and otherwise eligible to obtain access to classified information and facilities necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position.
  • Associate’s degree in a STEM field including computer science, web development, graphic design, or a related field. 
  • 3 years of experience in a UX developer role and a sample portfolio of past work 
  • 2 years of experience in a product UI developer role 
  • Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance 
  • US citizen 
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM field 
  • 5 years of experience as a UX / UI developer 
  • 2 years of React (Typescript) and Jetpack Compose (Kotlin Java) development experience 
  • Prior work for military or DoD customers
