ARM Group LLC is actively hiring for a Financial Controller with one of our clients in Aurora , IL

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Financial Controller plays a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the site, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, managing financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively. Directs the Finance / Accounting departments in all accounting-related activity, including the protection of company assets and finances through internal audits. Participates in plant activity and recommends changes in procedures that will result in increased operational efficiency. Directs the Finance / Accounting departments through hiring, training, appraising, and developing people. Responsible for annual budgeting process.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

• PLT Team: Participates, as a member of the plant management team, in all business-related activity, including capital investment projects, new product/plant projects, labor issues, and other operational needs.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, implement, and monitor budgets and forecasts to support strategic planning and decision-making. Analyze variances between actual results and budget/forecast targets, and provide explanations and recommendations.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements by GAAP or applicable accounting standards. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting.
• P&L Management: Manage the company's Profit and Loss (P&L) statement by overseeing revenue streams, controlling expenses, and optimizing profitability. Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as gross profit margin, operating profit margin, and net profit margin. Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost reduction to improve overall financial performance.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct a thorough financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Provide insights to support business decisions, such as pricing strategies, cost optimization, and investment opportunities.
• Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations. Regularly assess the effectiveness of internal controls and implement improvements as needed.
• Tax Compliance: Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, including preparation of tax returns, provision calculations, and coordination with external tax advisors. Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the company.
• Cash Management: Manage cash flow and liquidity to meet operational needs and optimize working capital. Develop and implement cash management strategies, including cash forecasting and investment decisions.
• Financial Systems and Processes: Evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to financial systems, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control. Ensure proper documentation of financial processes and compliance with internal policies.
• Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during financial audits. Coordinate audit activities, provide requested information, and address audit findings and recommendations.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and develop a team of accounting and finance professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance department
• IT operations: OverseeIT at Aurora to assure timely and accurate data entry, reporting and system updates. This includes the maintenance and coordination of communications between Aurora and corporate based systems.
• Telephone Communication: Overseesystem at the Aurora plant.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
• Proven experience (typically 5 years) in financial management or accounting roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and P&L management.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, Excel) and ability to adapt to new technologies.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
