Description
Under limited supervision, performs medical records activities including, resolution of all documentation received electronically or on paper to accounts, fulfilling medical records requests as indicated by statue and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintains and contributes to patient care by organizing and maintaining patients’ medical records and health information.
2. Communicates with patients, medical professionals, and insurance companies.
3. Answers requests for information and documents.
4. Updates and reviews medical records by reviewing information, notifying health care providers of record deficiencies, and tracking outstanding records.
5. Maintains patient confidence and protects clinic operations by keeping information confidential and complying with privacy policies and regulations.
6. Updates medical history in a timely manner.
7. Coordinates coverage through contract agencies and other medical records staff.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma with two years of experience as a medical records technician or a similar role. Strong organizational skills and office technology skills. Proficient in medical terminology and advanced experience in medical records security. Must be comfortable in collaborating with healthcare professionals. Ability to perform under pressure. Exceptional bedside manner.
