ARLCS is seeking an experienced and certified yoga instructor! This enthusiastic individual will lead safe and effective group classes for a diverse population where safety is the #1 priority. Classes will be heldon Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. and on Fridays from 7:00 - 8:00 a.m.

The ARLCS Yoga Instructor will be responsible for providing a balanced yoga practice for participants of all levels and abilities, providing progressions and regressions when necessary, and educating patrons on appropriate breathing principles and safe transitioning techniques.

To ensure success as an ARLCS yoga instructor, the candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to build relationships, as well as lead yoga sessions. A passion for health and wellness, coupled with knowledge of the anatomy of the human body and physiology, will ensure the development a successful yoga program for all ARLCS participants.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current yoga certification
• Completion of a 200-hour yoga training course is a plus
• 1-3 years of yoga instructor experience preferred
• Friendly and outgoing with excellent communication skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains and can utilize CPR certification and managing any on scene emergency.
• Design musical playlists to match the energy level throughout class sequences.
• Plan classes, choose appropriate music, and choose different modifications for each class or group depending on participants' capabilities and limitations.
• Participate in continuing education related to Pilates and teaching group fitness.
• Provide private yoga instruction for individuals, focusing on request areas of wellness
• Cleans and organizes the designated Yoga area after each class
• Carries out safety and infection control procedures according to protocols to ensure a safe environment
• Knowledge of safe exercise technique and principles
• Maintains a professional attitude towards participants, fellow teachers/instructors
• Project a professional image through dress, behavior and attitude
• Must be outgoing, energetic and able to perform in front of an audience
