Arkansas Lighthouse Charter School is currently seeking a bus driver. The ARLCS bus driver will provide transportation and services while ensuring the safety of scholars on the school bus. We are looking for a reliable School Bus Driver to join our team. Our drivers will be responsible for transporting scholars to and from school and extracurricular events, following a scheduled route and ensuring the safety of all passengers.

Your duties will include conducting pre-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition, observing safety and traffic rules during the journey, and maintaining order and discipline among scholars on the bus.

Additionally, you will be expected to communicate effectively with scholars, parents, and school staff, providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.

Overall, this role is crucial in providing safe and reliable transportation for scholars while contributing to their educational experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Facilitates seating arrangements.
• Responds to scholars’ needs and questions..
• Enforces all rules on the bus and seeks assistance with disciplinary issues.
• Explains safety equipment, procedures and emergency evacuation processes.
• Performs regular safety checks of equipment and exits prior to trip departure.
• Replenishes supplies.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must possess a CDL
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Must be socially perceptive.
• Must be an active listener..
• Must be able to think clearly, react appropriately and remain calm in an emergency..
• Has the ability to make quick sound decisions.
• Must be a good time manager and multi-tasker.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma.
• General knowledge of public safety and security rules.
• Certification in CPR and first aid techniques.
