• Under the supervision and guidance of the principal investigator, set up lab equipment following detailed procedures.
• Perform routine laboratory procedures such as handling of autoimmune arthritis model, immuno and histological staining, ELISA, Flow analysis, light and fluorescent microscopy, RT-PCR.
• Analyze data, record information, and maintain logs of experimental data.
• Assist in maintaining the mouse colonies: mouse handling, breeding, weaning, genotyping. 
• Assist in performing animal experiments on research animals. 
• Coordinates the acquisition of lab supplies and general lab upkeep.
• Assist with managing lab safety protocol, waste material, and arranging for disposal according to established procedures. 
• Clean/sterilize instruments, glassware, and equipment.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic knowledge of the methods, materials and techniques used in laboratory and research work.
• Knowledge of research and laboratory equipment appropriate to the area of the assignment.
• Ability to effectively communicate.
• Skill in recording research data.
