CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES
Selectively plan and provide in-person, virtual, and/or hybridcourse-integrated library instruction sessions in assigned liaison areasaligned with ACRL guidelines, standards, and frameworks.
Provide group and one-on-one consultations via email andthrough scheduled meetings (in-person, virtual, and/or hybrid).
Prepare, develop, and updateinstructional materials such as tutorials, research guides, and finding aids,in collaboration with the liaison librarians.
Participate in the library’s marketing and outreach effortsto assigned areas.
Atthe direction of the unit lead, assist with campus program partners (ThinkTank, Writing Center, etc.) as assigned, including helping to train advisors,new student orientation assistants, and represent the libraries’ at selected campusorientations, info fairs and events.
The UA Libraries supportthe UA’s diversity and inclusiveness strategic initiatives designed to create aninclusive environment for all faculty, staff, and students. The candidateis expected to support diversity and inclusiveness efforts in the departmentand college.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Familiarity with databases and other informationresources used in an academic library to support instruction, research, andengagement activities.
Understanding of the research and referencesprocess as well as a broad understanding of various types of reference sources(e.g., library catalog, indexes, web-scale discovery services, search engines,virtual and print resources) and their appropriate uses, includingunderstanding the differences between primary and secondary resources.
Evidence of a high degree of computer/digitalfluency (hardware and software). This includes proficiency in the use ofMicrosoft Outlook and Office Suite (current version) as well as familiaritywith library technology.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced/multi-tasking environment prioritizing tasks and responding positively tounanticipated changes while exhibiting follow through and flexibility.
Demonstrated leadership skills, includingevidence of excellent initiative, organizational and time management skills;evidence of the use of good judgment and solid analytical and problem-solvingskills with ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
Excellent customer service skills.
Skill in facilitating meetings and delivering presentations.
Excellent interpersonal andcommunication skills, both written and verbal, and skill in developing andmaintaining good working relationships.
