Scholarship and Collaboration Duties

• Attends team and data meetings.
• Participate in training sessions.
• Routinely assists the PI and study investigators with the manuscripts writing process (including possible authorship), conference presentations, and grant or funding proposals as related to the project.
• Oversees and/or supports the activities assigned to the undergraduate team members including demonstrating study procedures, delegating tasks, setting timelines, and providing formative feedback.
• Support undergraduate team members in completing projects associated with independent study or directed research course requirements.

Administrative Duties

• Assists in the revision and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures.
• Schedule participant study visits and assigns appropriate team members to these visits.
• Contributes and adheres to cleaning and safety protocols, including added provisions established due to COVID-19
• Prepares document and equipment for research visits
• Assists with preparation of IRB or sponsor progress reports, amendments, and requests.
• Recognizes and employs the professional guidelines and code of ethics related to the conduct of clinical research, and safeguards needed when conducting research with children and families.
• Tracks and monitors all required study professional development as well as alerts team members of upcoming expiration dates and provides resources to complete the required training.

Data Collection, Tracking and Processing

• Extracts medical data, and recruitment list from electronic health records.
• Administers and scores tests and measures according to protocol
• Sets up, conducts, and reviews polysomnography (PSG) studies
• Serves as lab support during participants visits which includes downloading, reviewing, adjusting, organizing data.
• Engages in direct communication and collection of all school related study data.
• Participate in occasional study visits to conduct sleep studies outside of the Tucson area that may require an overnight hotel stay.
• Retrieves study equipment and devices from participants' home and medical clinics.
• Calibrates, downloads and adjust scoring sleep data.
• Enters, extracts, and processes data accurately and in a timely manner.
• Logs and stores biological samples (e.g., fingersticks, saliva).
• Ensures completion and accuracy of all data collection logs
• Exports and cleans data from multiple portals
• Creates and applies syntax to databases in SPSS and/or other statistical software.

*Fingerprint background check required as duties include work with children and adolescents.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

• Interest in professional growth and contributing to publication and presentations
• Experience with human subject research, particular with children and families.
