Strategy and Design:

• Align the information technology (IT) objectives and programs with the strategic directions of the University of Arizona College of Health Sciences.
• Coordinate all IT activities/projects within the College, to include all the classroom and online didactic, simulated learning and clinical experience management systems, as well as research, clinical practice and business systems.
• Ensure the functionality of the IT infrastructure.
• Oversee that transfer of information technology into the private sector or with partners meets policy standards.
• Establish and manage strategic service provider partnerships.
• Design, implement, and maintain IT solutions for the Unit and College of Health Sciences College and University policies.

Compliance and Operations:

• Implement policies and practices to provide accessible, secure and qualify help desk services to all faculty, students, and staff. Develop solutions to improve the client experience and the overall effectiveness of the IT support services.
• Create and maintain documentation of system configuration and changes, along with operational procedures and processes.
• Lead, guide and oversee the College’s information technology budgeting process, including cost and productivity analyses for capital and operations.
• Report productivity and portfolio finance matters as required.

Technical Management:

• Evaluate system capacity, plan system expansion and coordination of critical internal systems with relevant external systems.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining server virtualization and backup architecture. 
• Recommend hardware and software to meet business needs.
• Serve on various Health Sciences and University IT committees.
• Ensure that the implantation of technology will occur in an integrated manner and in alignment with Unit.

Training/Development:

• Manage the performance and professional development of the IT team.
• Responsible for overseeing college IT support Staff and providing mentoring, training and technical direction for Windows, Linux and Mac.
• Establish schedules within the unit for on-call support and coordination of this service to ensure continuity of critical function.
