Duties & responsibilities:

• Develop compelling content for a variety of audiences and coordinate all outreach for the Arizona Environment program, including website, social media, e-newsletter, press releases, and more.
• Design and implement marketing strategies for individual programs and events within the Arizona Environment program area as well as broadly on behalf of the Arizona Environment program.
• Coordinate events, activities, and announcements with communicators across multiple departments, colleges, and programs at the University of Arizona to streamline marketing campaigns.
• Promote UArizona environment-related activities, events, and programs to local and national audiences.
• Elevate UArizona environment-related activities to national recognition including among prospective students, general public, research collaborators, and funding agencies.
• Report, evaluate, and maintain metrics on behalf of the Arizona Environment program.
• Participate in the AIR Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) committee and utilize the Arizona Environment communications channels, as appropriate, to elevate DEIJ principles.
• Represent the Arizona Environment program in meetings and events, including tabling at events; represent the Arizona Environment program to UArizona and external communities.

Knowledge, skills, & abilities:

• Excellent marketing knowledge: development of marketing strategies and content aimed at both diverse and specific audiences.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to develop compelling stories about people and program activities for dissemination through multiple media, including storytelling, interviews, video, and written content connecting with audience and increasing engagement metrics.
• Competency with multiple software products: Microsoft Office, Google, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
• Knowledge, expertise, and passion for environment and sustainability.
• Flexibility in approach to work and work duties as priorities may shift over time.
