SALARY:
$52,598 – 55,754 per year, depending on experience. Plus, excellent fringe benefits
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and two years of experience in accounting, including payroll and demonstrated knowledge of fund accounting and computerized accounting applications
One year of supervisory experience
Preferred:
One year of experience with budgets, grants, and contracts
Two years of supervisory experience

Position Type & Work Schedule:
Full-time, 12 months
Monday-Thursday, 8-6pm
Weekends and evenings may be required in addition to regular work schedule to support departmental and/or institutional needs

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
Processes and maintains general ledgers for all college funds; includes supervision of General accounting staff.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Serves Students. Trains and supervises staff responsible for general ledger accounting and accounts payable.
Prepares, analyzes, audits, and verifies transactions and journal entries of institutional funds' general ledgers, Payroll, Payroll-related payables (e.g., taxes, benefits), and the district's intra-fund balances (due to/from accounts). Transactions may include federal, state, and local grants.
Maintain cash controls for all funds and assist with reimbursing bank accounts according to operational guidelines. Process treasury management transactions.
Responsible for reviewing and approving the district's two (full-time and part-time) bi-weekly payroll processes.
Review and approve Statement of Net Position account reconciliations. Prepares, as needed.
Assist in preparation of year-end closings and individual financial statements for the district's audit.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and/or annually internal and external payroll reports for review. After approval, file and pay the monthly sales/use taxes and annual unclaimed property reports and liabilities, respectively.
Prepares assigned annual audit schedules.
Provides excellent customer service to and collaborates with functional areas to achieve District goals and initiatives.
Supports grants team when Accountant-Team Lead Grants is absent.
Support and participate in strategic initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
