UTILITY WORKER IV - ALL DIVISIONS
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Division Manager, Operations Superintendent, and the Foreman the Utility Worker ("UW") IV must demonstrate a proficiency in communicating with the general public, company employees, supervisors, and others. The UW IV must demonstrate the ability to prepare legible, clear, concise, and complete written reports, map postings, meter reading route maps, ACC postings, daily reports, and CAGRD records. The UW IV must understand and communicate information related to customer service, maintain proper conduct, and present a positive image of the Company. Must be available to perform on-call duties and work overtime in emergency as well as planned job assignments.
JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Train UW III employees to complete work according to standard procedures.
Assist UW III employees as size or complexity of job may require. Work involves general operation and maintenance of the water distribution system, installation of additional facilities such as mains, services, hydrants, and auxiliary fittings.
Record any system or equipment changes on maps and records. Perform regular preventive maintenance according to standard practice schedules on all pumps and equipment.
Install new or replacement service lines and meters.
Make turn-ons and turn-offs according to work orders to connect or disconnect service.
May operate auxiliary equipment such as purification or treatment system.
Maintain and control appropriate level of inventory and supervise the receiving and storage of materials, supplies, and equipment. Be proficient on inventory control paperwork.
Perform other duties assigned by supervisor in a competent and timely manner.
This position will perform Field Service Technician duties as needed after hours and in situations that management deems necessary to include emergencies and necessary reassignments during normal working hours.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must have a minimum two years' experience as UW III in this Company.
PROFESSIONAL OR OTHER CERTIFICATION OR LICENSING
Must have a valid, appropriate Arizona driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Must have a valid Arizona Department of Environmental Quality Grade 3 Water Distribution Operator Certification.
EQUIPMENT USED
Company vehicle, hand tools, and work equipment, such as welders, backhoe, air compressors, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be physically able to perform work that requires walking, bending, kneeling, digging, and lifting up to 75 pounds. Must be able to work outside in all types of
