Arizona Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center is Hiring a Veterinary Receptionist Near Gilbert, AZ

At AVECCC we are a Level 1 Trauma Certified facility dedicated to continuing the highest standard of medical care for our animal patients. In addition, AVECCC has robust protocols in place to allow us to continuously provide the services which keep our pets, employees, and our communities healthy and safe. The well-being of our staff is paramount and we have established protocols for minimizing face-to-face client interactions, fomite transmissions, and physical interactions between team members within the hospital. All interviews are currently being conducted virtually in order to reduce any non-essential personnel in the hospital.

We are looking for experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our growing team of veterinary professionals. AVECCC is a high volume, 24-hour emergency hospital with a variety of shift options to meet your lifestyle.

SCHEDULE: Thursday, Friday, Saturday (7a-7p)

Qualifications:

Candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to critically think and maintain a positive attitude in a fast paced environment.

Ability to multi-task.

The desire to continually advance your knowledge and skills is essential in order to achieve the optimal standard of patient care provided at AVECCC.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST:

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Display compassion and patience toward clients.
  • Interact positively in a team environment with members of medical treatment team.
  • Answer incoming phone calls from clients, veterinarians, and employees.
  • Greet clients and pets upon arrival.
  • Handle emergency situations efficiently and calmly.
  • Present billing estimates to clients and collect money for bills.
  • Admit and discharge animal patients.
  • Provide regular updates to clients regarding the status of their pet and/or wait time.
  • Document phone conversations in electronic system.
  • Maintain and file patient records and complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Enter patient information into company electronic system.
  • Maintain cleanliness of facility including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.
  • Other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Other Veterinary Receptionist Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • One year of experience as Client Administrator, Receptionist or customer service related job.
  • Ability to multitask.

Veterinary Receptionist Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with popular breeds of dogs and cats.
  • Knowledge of veterinary medical terms.
  • Education or experience in veterinary field.
  • Ability to work various shifts including all major holidays.
