The School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence (SCAI) is seeking a Web Application and Automation Developer for our IT Service team. This role will enhance our automation capabilities within the ServiceNow, Microsoft 365/Power and Airtable platforms. The ideal candidate will excel in creating Web applications, automating processes, generating reports, and integrating services and databases. Essential Duties

  • Exhibit strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Develop Documentation and training materials for IT staff and end-users.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
Task & Workflow Automation:
  • Leverage ServiceNow to improve ticket task creation, asset management identification, assignment, tracking, and reporting.
  • Create insightful reports from various data sources.
  • Set up automated notifications for system alerts.
  • Deploy automation solutions across multiple platforms including Power Automate, Airtable, and ServiceNow.
  • Build Design service enhancement workflows in ServiceNow/MS Teams to improve business processes.
Low-Code Development:
  • Develop low-code integrations and custom applications using various platforms.
  • Utilize webhooks, JSON, and REST APIs for system connections.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or closely related field AND 3 years web and database experience which includes creating and updating table structures and views as well as CSS development; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in ServiceNow development, including creating catalogs, automation, CMDB, and reporting.
  • Experience in custom data list creation and integration (AirTable, Microsoft 365/SharePoint Lists, Teams).
  • Experience in Microsoft Power Platform application development (Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Demonstrated knowledge in scripting for task automation (e.g., PowerShell).
  • Experience in leveraging APIs for application and data integration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge with CI/CD processes (e.g., Terraform) on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience in web application development skills (HTML, HTTPS, JavaScript, CSS, XML, WordPress).
  • Experience in secure application development and remediation practices.
  • Experienced with MySQL or SQL database design and development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AI or chatbots and their potential organizational applications.

Working Environment

  • Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking. Use office equipment including a desktop computer.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties. Regular review of completed tasks.
