Members of the School of Humanities, Arts and Cultural Studies are committed to excellence in teaching and research. We are a research-oriented school where our priority is the discovery of new knowledge in all degree areas. Faculty in SHArCS contribute to the master’s programs in Interdisciplinary Studies; Social Justice and Human Rights; and English. Essential Functions of the Position:

• Teach IAS 300 Career Strategies and Personal Resilience to undergraduate students in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online formats.
• Faculty Associates are required to prepare introductions to lessons and timely announcements and to offer instructive and encouraging feedback on assignments.
• Faculty Associates who teach face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online courses taught to campus-based students (iCourses) are required to hold in-person office hours on ASU’s West Valley campus for at least two hours per week.
• Faculty Associates who teach courses taught to students in ASU Online degree programs (oCourses) are required to hold office hours online.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher at time of hire in the field of discipline you are teaching or related field.

Desired Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including first-generation college students.
• Evidence of effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience in student engagement and building rapport with students.
• Expertise in teaching courses online and/or in-person.
• Experience with online delivery platforms such as Canvas or equivalent.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
