Refugee Cash Assistance Supervisor

Friendly House, Inc., is a 501(c) 3 non-profit agency located in Phoenix, Arizona whose primary function is to provide a variety of educational and social service programming aimed at addressing the needs of low-income individuals and families, vulnerable populations and diverse communities. Additionally, Friendly House operates a charter school, Academia del Pueblo, with the mission to provide an academic environment which promotes a culture of high expectations to students from diverse cultures. Friendly House was organized in 1920 as the Phoenix Americanization Committee by a group of Phoenix citizens with the assistance of the United States Department of Education. Position Summary

The Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the administration and delivery of Refugee Cash Assistance programs to eligible individuals and families. This role involves supervising a team of caseworkers, ensuring compliance with program guidelines and regulations, and providing leadership in program development and implementation. The RCA Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the clients as they navigate financial assistance programs and work towards self-sufficiency.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, public administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in refugee resettlement, social services, or a related field, with 1 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of refugee populations, immigration policies, and social services available to refugees.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team of caseworkers.
  • Proficiency in data management and reporting systems, with the ability to analyze program outcomes and performance metrics.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish helpful; or proficiency in languages commonly spoken by refugee populations is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to obtain a Class 1/IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in social work, public administration, human services, or a related field is preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) Preferred
  • Preferred experience specifically in refugee resettlement or refugee services, showcasing a strong understanding of the unique needs, challenges, and opportunities within refugee communities.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations. Familiarity with federal and state regulations governing refugee assistance programs, including Refugee Cash Assistance and related social services.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques to interpret program outcomes, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Experience with data management systems enhances the ability to track program effectiveness and optimize service delivery.
  • Past experience working as case manager with a large/significant work-load.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of caseworkers involved in the delivery of Refugee Cash Assistance program.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of applications for Refugee Cash Assistance, including eligibility determinations and benefit calculations.
  • Provide guidance and support to caseworkers in addressing complex cases and ensuring compliance with program guidelines and regulations.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of case files to ensure accuracy and compliance with program requirements.
  • Develop and implement training programs for caseworkers to enhance their skills and knowledge in administering Refugee Cash Assistance programs.
  • Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to identify resources and support services for refugee clients.
  • Monitor program outcomes and performance metrics and develop strategies for program improvement and optimization.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Refugee Cash Assistance program and other internal departments or external agencies, including DES.
  • Stay informed about changes in immigration policies, social services, and relevant regulations affecting refugee populations.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports detailing program activities, outcomes, and other relevant data.
