Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS) to join our healthcare team. As an HIS, you will be responsible for assisting with patient assessments, performing various medical procedures, and ensuring the proper functioning of medical instruments and equipment. This is a vital role in providing quality patient care and maintaining a safe healthcare environment.
Duties:
- Assist healthcare professionals with medical procedures, such as audiograms, tympanometry, and other diagnostic tests
- Ensure the cleanliness and sterility of medical instruments and equipment
- Calibrate and maintain medical instruments to ensure accurate readings
- Monitor patients during procedures to ensure their comfort and safety
- Provide patient education on procedures and post-procedure care
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide efficient and effective patient care
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as Hearing Instrument Specialist
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding
- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
