Carrollwood Farms is a family estate farm of over 4,000 acres in North Carolina’s Stokes and Rockingham Counties. We have a farming division, a building division, a grounds division, a vegetable production division, and a sitework and grading division. A hospitality division is being developed. This position is in the agronomy division.

DESCRIPTION

The farmer will assist the farming team with agronomic practices including but not limited to the raising, harvest, post-harvest care, and sale of hay and crops. The farmer will also assist the farming team with agronomic best practice to improve soil health including but not limited to the growing of cover crops. All practices are done organically with the goal of becoming certified organic in early 2026.

The farmer will also assist with the development of a beef cattle operation. Initially this could include stockers but long-term will include a brood cow herd. Breed likely Wagyu. As with the the raising of hay and crops, the goal is for a certified organic beef operation.

Long-term goals include the development of a beef processing facility.

This position could be full- or part-time.

REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of 10 years’ experience in production agriculture. Knowledge of row crop production and large animal husbandry. Ability to operate safely and maintain farm equipment including tractors, spreaders, cultivators, discs, mowers, balers, harvest equipment, and more. Knowledge about how to store grain in grain bins and move grain from grain bins is preferred. Ability to manage bovine reproduction including possibly through AI methods is also required.

Individuals interested in this position must be highly motivated and have a “no job is too small mindset.” This individual must have excellent time and project management skills.
