ARGO is Hiring a Quality Assurance Intern - Summer 2024 (Richardson, TX) Near Richardson, TX

ARGO is a leading provider of software and analytics solutions for both the financial services and healthcare industries. ARGO has current summer Intern openings within our Software Development departments that will begin on June 3, 2024. The Internship will run from June 3, 2024, through August 9, 2024.

Interns will be expected to work 40 hours per week within our Richardson, TX, corporate office, unless taking unpaid time off. The position does not include housing, benefits, or paid holidays. 
JOB SUMMARYAn intern is a temporary position hired for a brief period, with the goal to gain work experience, occasionally some university credit, through hands-on experience supporting and working side by side with industry experts. Responsibilities will vary based on team assignment.EXPECTED WORK AND PERFORMANCEThe ideal Quality Assurance Intern will learn more about the ARGO culture, its core business values and impact on the community. In this role you will perform development for enhancing and maintenance of software test tools. This includes test data generation for performance testing, custom scripts for deploying test environments, AI assisted workflows, and additional custom testware developed by ARGO for testing ARGO solutions. 

  • Learn and apply manual and automated testing processes on ARGO products.
  • Generate test data, scripts, test cases and environments under supervision.
  • Log, document, analyze, verify and report on defects uncovered during testing.
  • Research issues, perform root cause analysis, and suggest solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with teams of developers, product managers, and other QA professionals.
  • Master new testing tools and methodologies through hands-on experience.
  • Contribute ideas to help improve overall product quality assurance.
  • Participate in meetings to gain full understanding of specific product functionalities and use cases.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to the QA process.
  • And any other duties needed to help drive to ARGO's Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Values.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have recently obtained OR currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field to specified internship.
  • Must have an overall 3.0 or higher GPA.
  • Prior industry experience is a plus.

  • Fundamental Knowledge of software testing principles and methods.
  • Self-disciplined- ability to meet project deadlines without constant reminders.
  • Good judgment, strong initiative, and a quick learner
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication.
  • Must project professional, corporate image and presence.
  • Ability to be flexible and take an optimistic approach to work.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer service and response.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe candidate will work onsite at our corporate headquarters in Richardson, Texas. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit stationary; use hands/fingers to constantly operate computer keyboarding and office equipment; talk or hear, to communicate with employees, customers, visitors, and guests (must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants for U.S. or Canadian based positions with ARGO must be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time for ARGO positions.
