Job Title : Assistant Concept Manager

Reports To : Concept Manager

Department : Food & Beverage / Retail Operations

Status : Exempt

Broad Functions : Assist the Concept Manager in overseeing and coordinating the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, associate retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, Safety Program, Union Agreements compliance (for CBA locations) cleanliness and sanitation.

Ensure proper training and supervision of all personnel, to deliver prompt, courteous service in a manner that complies with Food and Beverage standards and company (and Brands) policies and procedures.

This position will mainly, but not exclusively, support FOH operations.

Main Duties & Responsibilities :

1.Responsible for assigned shift, assisting in overall management.

2.Supervise and coordinate assigned shifts; conduct pre-shifts meetings.

3.Assist in overall supervision of the department.

4.Check staff punctuality and attendance, reports non-compliance.

5.Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with Areas USA’s policies and procedures.

6.Make employment and termination recommendations consistent with company guidelines for approval or review by the Concept Manager, General Manager and HR Manager, as applicable.

7.Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

9.Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner, considering Company (and CBA’s) guidelines.

10.Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs.

11.Place orders and establish pars according to business levels.

12.Perform inventories according to guidelines.

13.Ensure that all products are received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with the restaurant’s receiving policies and procedures.

14.Observe, teach, and coach staff’s service.

15.Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met.

16.Follow up on food and beverage preparation.

17.Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and local regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.

18.Maintaining outstanding standards, and solid product knowledge.

19.Maintain an awareness of all promotions and advertisements.

20.Accurately and efficiently ring on registers and accurately maintain all cash and media at the registers. Effectively assists Sales Associates in this procedure also.

21.Maintain orderly appearance of register area and supplies stocked.

22.Provide advice and suggestions to other managers and supervisors as needed.

23.Assists in supervising the shift's operations in the restaurant and liaise with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations, compliance with procedures and safety regulations and that an optimal level of quality service is achieved.

24.Handle any guest complaint during assigned shift.

25.Communicate with guests and receive feedback.

26.Follow up on established training steps.

27.Union negotiations experience desirable.

28.Knowledge and experience in employee relations issues including conflict in the workplace and investigations in partnership with the People, Talent and Culture Department.

29.Drives Areas USA’s Guest Program to exceed standards and guidelines.

30.Have a continuous presence in the concept, but especially during peak hours.

31.Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications / Requirements :

1.Associate degree with at least 2 years of front of the house operations and or assistant management positions.

2.Have knowledge of service and food and beverage, both FOH and BOH.

3.Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant’s trading area.

4.Excellent basic math and computer skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system.

5.Must have the ability to lead a team to reach organizational objectives and goals.

6.Excellent Customer Service and interpersonal skills.
