ACES Office of International Education is a public education service division under Area Cooperative Educational Services for the Connecticut State Department of Education.

ACES International is seeking enthusiastic and experienced teachers in S.T.E.M. and English to join our immersive program in schools of the Shandong Province. This is a fantastic opportunity to share your knowledge of STEM and English subjects through project-based learning. Explore a vibrant culture, and have a lasting impact on highly motivated middle school students.

Program Details:

Dates: July 21 - August 3, 2024 (14 days)

Location: Shandong, China

Grade Levels: 6-8

Schedule:

· Classes: Monday - Friday (10 days)

· Weekends (Saturday and Sunday): Off

· Daily Teaching Time: 5 hours

• 2 hours of morning instruction daily: (STEM focus or content expertise)
• 1-hour interactive discussion following morning instruction
• Lunch
• 2 hours of afternoon instruction daily: (STEM focus or content expertise)

Compensation:

· USD $2,000 per week

· Round-trip economy flight: US/China

· Furnished hotel accommodations close to campus

· Three meals per day (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

· Local transportation provided when needed

· Emergency medical insurance provided by hosting school

· Cultural advisory and support provided by fellow colleagues of hosting school

Responsibilities:

· Develop and deliver engaging project-based STEM lessons (or subject-specific lessons in your content expertise of Math, English, Physics, Biology, Chemistry).

· Foster a positive and interactive classroom environment and collaborative culture that encourages curiosity and exploration.

· Lead a 1-hour interactive discussion daily (Monday through Friday) after each morning class.

· Collaborate with fellow teachers to ensure program success.

Qualifications:

• Valid U.S. Passport
• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience
• Passion for education, intercultural exchange, and international experience
• Experience with project-based learning
• Ability to develop relevant, engaging, and age-appropriate instructional lessons in area of content expertise.
• Flexibility and adaptability in the destination country’s culture
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
