Job Overview:

The Assistant Director will assist the Director with the responsibility of overseeing the daily operations of our preschool program and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. This is a leadership role that requires strong organizational skills, education experience, and a passion for early childhood care and education.

Responsibilities:

• Help develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the preschool program including assisting Director and parent representatives with planning and implementing fundraising initiatives

• Manage time off requests of staff and schedule substitute teachers

• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and Ardmore United Methodist Church staff to ensure effective communication regarding matters pertaining to the preschool

• Manage the preschool budget, including financial planning in conjunction with the preschool committee and resource allocation

• Process payroll biweekly using provided payroll software

• Manage registration and tuition payments

• Contribute to creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive environment for children, teachers, and families

• Stay updated on current trends and best practices in early childhood education

Experience:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in education, preferably in a preschool setting

- Prefer management experience

- Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Proficient in budgeting and financial management

- Demonstrated strategic planning abilities

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20,000.00 - $23,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
