ABOUT THIS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ROLE
As a Software Developer at Ardent Principles, your day kicks off with a team stand-up meeting, where you discuss progress and set priorities. You then dive into designing and developing desktop applications using Microsoft .NET technologies, particularly WPF/XAML.
By Mid-morning, you might be enhancing Office add-ins to extend the functionality of applications like Excel and Outlook. After a collaborative session with product managers and designers to refine technical specifications, you spend the afternoon implementing user interface designs, ensuring they are both seamless and compliant with accessibility standards. Your day wraps up with some code reviews, unit testing, and addressing any bugs reported by QA. Each day, you leave with a great sense of achievement knowing you tackled and overcame any challenge that comes your way!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SOFTWARE DEVELOPER
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Experience in desktop application development using Microsoft .NET technologies
- Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET Framework
- Expertise in Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and XAML
- Experience developing Office add-ins using VSTO or Office JavaScript APIs
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and experience implementing accessibility features
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Highly Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- Experience with other Microsoft technologies such as WinForms, ASP.NET, or Azure
