Arcosa Brand is Hiring a Heavy Assembler (Second Shift) Near Newton, IA

Arcosa Wind Towers, Inc. is searching for a Heavy Assembler for Second Shift. As a Heavy Assembler, you’ll assemble mechanical units, fabricated parts/components subassemblies, assemblies, and complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment. The Heavy Assembler will also fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements, and repair units or products that have failed to meet requirements.

Job Location: Newton, IA 

What you’ll do:

  • Insert and/or attach sub-assemblies with appropriate hardware
  • Attach complex sub-assemblies and/or parts with appropriate hardware
  • Apply appropriate torque sequence and values
  • Read and follow complex instructions
  • Operate mobile equipment
  • Maintain attendance within acceptable standards
  • 4:00PM - 2:30AM (Monday-Thursday) - Hours may vary based on production

What you’ll need:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of hand tools and hardware (i.e. bolts & nuts), ability to read and follow written instructions, electrical wiring experience and the ability to match-up sub-assembly to the final product
  • Certifications: Applicable Torque Certification from Arcosa
  • Experience: Up to 1 Year

Working Conditions:

  • Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.
  • This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
  • Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant

  • Be aware of and observe all safety practices. Including but not limited to- Safety glasses, safety boots, hearing protection, etc… as required
  • Know and follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned.
