Arcon Electric is Hiring an Experienced Helper / Delivery Driver Near Fort Walton Beach, FL
Electrician Helper / Delivery Driver (Starting Wage $18.00 per Hour):
The Electrician Helper / Delivery Driver will assist at our shop in pulling material for our jobsites, picking up material at our local supply houses, delivering material to our jobsites as needed and assisting our onsite electricians by performing tasks on the job. Duties will include installation, additions, alterations, and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials & equipment within the commercial and residential construction industry. Worksites are typically comprised of new construction, remodel, and service calls.
You will receive on the job training under the supervision of a Journeyman or Master Electrician, acquiring the skills and knowledge of the trade. Experience is preferred but not required, will train the right person.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Ability to be on time, ready to work and ready to learn.
- Ability to work independently and self-manage.
- Performs all electrical tasks with general supervision.
- Ability to troubleshoot circuits, and equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot lighting and learn lighting control systems.
- Ability to learn and follow National Electrical Code.
- Understand and read schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications.
- Ability to accept direction and follow established company procedures.
- Ability to measure, cut, bend, assemble and install electrical conduit.
- Learn to Install controls and electrical distribution packages, such as panels, disconnects, switches, relays and circuit breaker
- Clean driving record required.
Working Conditions:
- Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow.
- Job requires employee to have required personal tools with them at all times (waist tool belt as worn weighs approximately 30 lbs).
- Work from all ladder types (step ladders up to 14′, “A” frame ladders and all size extension ladders and carry and relocate up to 12′ step ladder by one’s self.
- Perform work at various heights, up to 24′ from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks or other safe work areas.
- Work in restricted areas (closets, tunnels, crawl spaces, attics).
- Wear personal protective equipment (masks), respirator when required.
- Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers.
- Able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required.
