Senior Manager - Supply Chain

Reports to: VP, Supply Chain Management Last Update: Feb, 2023

Overview: This critical role is accountable for the Supply Chain function within the Permian Business Unit, including materials planning, local procurement, inventory optimization, and warehouse operations. The Permian Business unit is the largest and fastest growing business unit within Archrock. There are approximately 25 supply chain team members reporting into this position, in addition to 20 manned and unmanned inventory stocking locations with a book value >$10M. This individual will work closely with the Operations and Corporate Supply Chain team members to ensure goods and services are available when and where needed to repair or maintain our compression units and those of our valued customers. This role reports directly to the VP of Supply Chain and is a key member of Supply Chain Leadership Team.

Essential Duties :

Safety

- Champion service quality, health, safety, environmental policies.

Planning

- Develop Material Plans to support business objectives including customer service, on-time delivery, inventory turns, cost, etc. for respective area.

- Work with Corporate Supply Chain to identify and establish long-term strategic relationships with critical suppliers.

Source to Pay

- Ensure lowest total cost by compliance with preferred supplier agreements.

- Establish regional price agreements and contracts.

- Sourcing and procurement to support unit down to minimize downtime.

- Regularly review and action open supply chain resolution issues to minimize delays in work order closures or invoice payments.

Inventory, Warehouse and Logistics Management

- Optimize inventory holdings to reduce slow moving inventory and minimize or reduce stock outs.

- Regularly execute plans for inventory disposal/investment recovery.

- Develop, implement and maintain an accurate physical inventory and cycle count program. Ensure material control throughout multiple manned and unmanned facilities.

- Coordinate cross-functional activities to formulate disposition actions of slow moving or obsolete material.

- Optimize routes to improve delivery timing and minimize drive time, fuel and wear and tear on company vehicles.

Process Improvement

- Work with Corporate Supply Chain to implement operational standards and processes and drive continuous improvement.

- Independently identify and work with Corporate Supply Chain to develop new processes to improve efficiency across the Supply Chain organization.

General Management

- Works with business to understand overall business plan and priorities.

- Review and analyze supply chain activity reports and metrics and determine/execute appropriate mitigation actions with a sense of urgency.

- Manage supply chain performance to established KPI's in respective area and drive targeted improvement plans.

- Work with other departments to communicate supplier performance issues and develop improvement plans.

- Participate in periodic business unit and corporate supply chain management reviews of supply chain performance and improvements.

- Manage annual budget.

- Develops, implements, manages and communicates work standards and performance metrics for assigned team.

- Responsible for employee performance management and development.

- Manages hiring, termination, management per delegation of authority and required approvals.

- On board new employees and assess competency and training needs of team members. Develops training plans for all team members and ensures that training is provided.

- Coordinates schedule and sets priorities in order to ensure task completion and minimize overtime.

- Includes business partner feedback in the objectives and direction setting for the function. Effectively communicates progress against objectives with key stakeholders.

- Manages all resources (personnel, equipment, materials, facilities, funds and reputation) for assigned Business Units.

- Demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), ERP (Oracle preferred) and PC skills.

- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to train and mentor other supply chain team members

- Ability to identify areas for improvement and develop improvement plans

Knowledge:

- Good understanding of all Supply Chain functions (Planning, Source to Pay, Inventory and Warehouse Management, Inbound and outbound logistics)

- General knowledge of shop and/or field operations in the gas compression industry

- Thorough knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

- College degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or equivalent

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the supply chain function with minimum of 5 years of management role.

- Must be fit for duty for the job tasks being performed.

- Must meet the medical requirements necessary to wear PPE required by role.

- Frequently required to display good manual dexterity and to reach with hands and arms.

- Frequently required to talk and hear.

- Frequently required to perform repetitive motions, sit while using PC and to stand and walk with good balance.

- Occasionally required to stoop, twist, kneel, and squat.

- Occasionally required to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds and to push and pull up to 110 pounds.

- Occasionally required to climb, stairs and slanted ladders and carry up to 30 pounds with one hand.

- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
