Archrock Career Center is Hiring an Instrumentation & Controls Coordinator Intermediate Near Midland, TX

Overview: Must be capable of coordinating and administering the processes and other operational mechanisms that achieve the development, implementation and maintenance of new and existing remote monitoring/telematics equipment and control systems, to ensure quality and production efficiency. This capability also includes working with field operations groups to coordinate and execute I&C activities, training, and troubleshooting I&C technical and process management issues.

Essential Duties:

- Assist with the coordination and administration of the delivery of the telematics program and work with various support and operations teams to achieve program performance targets and goals 

- Assist in the development, implementations and administration of standards & processes that provide high quality performance, reliability and cost effectiveness for the telematics and control systems 

- Provide day-to-day support to field operations teams having issues with troubleshooting, problem analysis, equipment failures, etc. 

- Assist with training efforts for proper installation, troubleshooting, transferring and maintenance of telematics devices 

- Assist with the administration of processes for tracking telematics equipment

- Maintain technical competency with new products and services

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to: 

- Perform all essential duties. 

- Setup, operate and troubleshoot telematics equipment. 

- Read & interpret instrumentation & control documentation, piping & instrument diagrams (P&IDs), related ANSI/ISA drawings & National Electric Code requirements. 

- Assist with multiple assignments at once and quickly move back and forth between assignments with ease. 

- Use intermediate computer skills, including engine specific software (Cat and Waukesha). 

- Demonstrate customer service skills. 
- Read, write and speak English (work orders, manuals, etc.) 
- Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures. 

Knowledge: - Working knowledge of gas engines and compressors, electrical systems, panel boards, skid wiring, etc.
- Working knowledge of control systems and telematics/remote monitoring equipment and protocols. 

- Good working knowledge of PLC programming. 

- Introductory level knowledge of modern computer programming and infrastructure. 

- Read and interpret logic, schematic and wiring diagrams. 

- Solid knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations. 
- General understanding of customer’s production equipment.
- Working knowledge of end devices (e.g. gateways, engine and compressor controllers, PLC, etc.) 
- Show ability to keep up with emerging and new technologies. 

Minimum Education and Certification: 

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
- Gas or diesel engine and compressor school / training preferred. 
- Advanced electrical, instrumentation, electronics training or experience: electricity, instrumentation, electronics troubleshooting circuits and controls. 

Minimum Experience: 

- 3-5 years’ direct experience with natural gas engines and compressors, and a solid knowledge of production equipment, electrical, instrumentation, electronics, troubleshooting and control systems. 
- SCADA systems or related experience in telematics/remote monitoring preferred. 

Leadership: 

- Expected to serve as a resource to others for knowledge transfer, training and checking work. 

- May occasionally lead a team. 

- Assesses training needs and ensures that team members are receiving proper training and that training programs are utilized. Improves technical training gaps.

- Must be fit for duty for the job tasks being performed. 

- Requires some lifting (up to approximately 50 pounds). 

- Requires working around and on various equipment with multi-varied surfaces and terrain. 

- Some travel required. 

- Must be able to work under pressure.

- Most assignments regularly require problem identification where analysis of situations or data are required to provide a well thought-out solution. 

- Solutions may require evaluation of variable factors, new approaches, planning and resourcefulness.
