Job Description: We are seeking an experienced CAD designer and drafter to join our quickly growing team. The right applicant will be able to provide product drawings for client and architect review as well as detailed build drawings for use in manufacturing. We primarily work with wood and metal on architectural and limited civil projects. We manufacture unique and innovative products for high end residential and commercial projects throughout North America.

Skills/Requirements

· Strong math and computer skills, as well as an eye for detail

· Strong oral and written communication

· Deep understanding of CAD as well as related programs such as Catia, Solid works, Inventor, or sim.

· Good understanding of architectural blueprints

· Background in architecture, construction, or related field preferred

· Basic understanding of welding symbols and fabrication plans a plus (will train)

· Organized and detail oriented

· Work with sales, project engineers, project managers, and fabricators in shop to ensure a successful project

· Ability to meet deadlines and stay on project schedule

· Ability to complete detailed and itemized material quantity, material optimization, and build efficiency for production and estimating purposes

· Ability to follow architectural drawings, specifications, and related documents to provide buildable product drawings

· High level of professionalism

· Good problem-solving skills

· Self-starting, self-motivated, and effective time manager

· Must have ability to take base maps or client provided drawings and create product layout and detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings.

Experience/Education

· At least 2 years of experience of estimating in metal fabrication, construction, or related field

· High school or equivalent education

· A strong background in one or more of the following: manufacturing, metal fabrication, construction, architecture, landscape architecture, or another related field

· Good knowledge of construction and metal fabrication means and methods

Compensation:

· 31 - 40 DOE
