Our client, has a current position available for a Senior Business Analyst in New Jersey.Job DescriptionAs a Senior Business Analyst you will join the wealth management group of a leading investment bank focused on Data Governance. Your responsibilities will include:Engaging/Leading Data Stewards, Data Owners, and business SMEs to define Key Data Elements (KDEs), business rules and data quality controlsServing as an internal expert for reports, data definitions, data quality and data lineage Partnering with the Group Data Management Organization to review and validate data lineage Profiling and analyzing data to develop insights and enable requirement gatheringDefining and documenting data quality requirements for KDEs so that data is complete and accurateWorking with IT to translate business requirements into technical specifications Defining test cases, perform user acceptance testing liaising with the Test Manager , QA and Development throughout the release process Managing data quality monitoring and remediation processBuilding strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely and high quality delivery Communicating the importance of managing data as an asset in all aspects of the roleWorking as a part of a team of analysts to ensure consistent data across the organizationQualifications4 years of experience in the investment banking / wealth management industry5 years of business analyst experience with 3 years in the data related projectsBusiness analysis and data wrangling (transforming and mapping) experienceSolid knowledge of data management principles and processes Hands on knowledge of data analysis, data profiling with SQL, IDQ or any other toolsExperience with data root cause analysis and cross functional resolution of data issuesAbility to break down complex problems into components, identify root causes, and establish resolution plansExcellent presentation and communication (orally and written) skills with ability to interact with all levels of managementAbility to effectively breakdown and communicate complex concepts to business and operation partners Ability to adapt to change and to detect and respond to evolving business needsAnalytical and logical Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work independently and creatively as well as within a teamTeam player, collaborative and inclusiveAdditional InformationThis is a long term contract opportunity.
