Job Description
Capital Project Manager II - Decatur, IL
This is a full-time, exempt position.
Position Summary:
  • This is an salaried exempt level position reporting in collaboration with an established team to the Capex Regional Manager with oversite for projects in North America.
Job Purpose and Impact:
  • The Project Manager will partner with the business areas and (key) cross functional ADM stakeholders to manage expectations for project scope, schedule and budget. Facilitate buy in for project implementations while collaborating with a team of professionals to execute on various project initiatives as well as lead other initiatives. In this role, you will ensure high-quality work for projects up to 8 million dollars with high cost improvement and critical infrastructure impact and significance.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Define project scope and plan the delivery of projects according a roles & responsibility matrix. Execute the project, including costing and implementation according the Front End Loading(FEL) guidelines.
  • Project site field reviews during development and execution to understand potential clashes in order to develop mitigation plans to maintain budget and schedule.
  • Assuring monthly project reporting to the stakeholders through FEL, execution, commissioning, and capitalization and closure.
  • Scope change and risk management escalation processes.
  • Complying with local legislation and ADM requirements for permitting, safety legislation, quality assurance, HACCP, GMP, Hazop as well as TPS policy.
  • Supporting and driving contractor safety through the use of preventative action plans and safety metrics.
  • Assure that the safety and reliability of existing equipment is maintained during project implementation
  • Coordinate the team development of all necessary documentation for commissioning, training, maintenance and maintain all records required by legislation and policies.
  • Coordinate and provide direction to contractual partners for project execution including the use of a well maintained work breakdown structure.
  • Setting up project structure and coordination with project steering committee according project governance guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or Master degree in a technical field, preferably in combination with project management engineering with 5 years of industrial project management, preferred OR 10 years of experience in project management
  • Knowledge of cost engineering and key performance indicators
  • Knowledge of industrial process project planning and scheduling with multi-craft trades
  • Knowledge of industrial process project commissioning means and methods
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Project, Primavera or other resource loaded scheduling tools
  • Excellent interpersonal English fluency communication skills, written and verbal
Additional Qualifications:
  • Certified Project Manager or willingness to obtain certification
  • Minimum of 5 years managing several industrial projects of low to high complexity ranging in size from 1 to 8 million USD or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work with 3rd party design firms executing under a variety of contractual methodologies
  • Execution of multi-year projects experience with in the Agribusiness & Chemical industries.
  • Experience with execution on revamp and brownfield projects or related experience
  • Knowledge of SharePoint beneficial
