JOB TITLE: Coffee House

JOB CLASSIFICATION: DEPARTMENT

REPORTS TO: DIRECT REPORTS:

Residential Aides , 10:00 pm to 6:00 am (Weekend)

Non-Exempt: Part Time (16 hours)

Catholic Socia l Services, Saint John's Hospice Housing and Homeless Services Division

Weekend Coffee House Supervisor None

SUMMARY:

The 10:00 pm to 6:00 am Residential Assistant is responsible for monitoring, managing, and assisting residents and outside clients, following agency protocol. The RA fields phone calls and greets clients as well as agency supporters, donors, and outside agencies seeking to interface with our program. As such the RA is a public representative of the agency. He or she must function in a manner consistent with the goals and mission of St. John's Hospice and Catholic Social Services.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor residents via rounds, security door, resident attendance forms, and others; follow duty sheet guidelines.
  • Ensure that residents are complying with facility rules; manage and document
  • Complete shift report and other paperwork
  • Monitor and document administering of resident medication; log meds turned in; communicate med changes and other med issues on the log, etc.
  • Administer alcohol and drug screening when
  • Cooperate with Case Management staff regarding issues about
  • Assist residents in receiving saved or bagged
  • Answer phone in assisting clients, benefactors, and outside agencies regarding
  • Receive, log, and store donations of clothing, food, and other
  • Communicate with staff and management team regarding client and facility
  • Spread salt on facility sidewalks during icy weather conditions.
  • Work as a team with Coffee House staff and GSP RA, with a particular focus on safety during rounds,
  • Perform fire drills and other emergency
  • Handle emergencies and complete related
  • Clean the front office and handicapped bathroom when working at the SJH front desk.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to write logs and to communicate effectively with staff.
  • Basic skills in managing clients.

EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 years' experience working with special needs populations; prefer knowledge of homelessness, substance abuse, and mental health issues.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, operate controls, reach out with hands, occasionally lift objects up to 50 lbs.
