Mother of Christ Catholic School, in Miami, Florida is looking for a Middle School Math Teacher for the 2024-25 school year. This person will be responsible for the supervision, instruction, lesson planning, assessing, and maintaining data analysis skills of the students. This position is also responsible for collaborating with teachers in promoting interdisciplinary STEM activities into the core curriculum. This teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Demonstrates competence in teaching by demonstrating current, thorough knowledge of curriculum and subject matter and communicates effectively with students.
• Organizes classroom learning and materials to maximize student time on tasks as well as motivates student learning.
• Uses effective methods of evaluation that are directly related to curriculum objectives and to concepts and skills taught; consistently and effectively evaluates student progress.
• Establishes a consistent disciplinary approach which promotes self-direction and positive self-image; set high standards for student behavior and manages inappropriate behavior effectively.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Math Education, or related field.
• Florida Department of Education Teaching certification; temporary or professional required.
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of teaching experience.
• Experience working with educational computer software including digital gradebooks, and smart boards.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Google Workspace.
• Effective oral and written English communication skills.
• Must be of good moral character and supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred
• Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
