PRE-PLANNING LOCATION MANAGER
Location: Calvary Mortuary-LA
Status: Full Time, Exempt
Salary Range: $66,570 - $81,174
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. Candidates are paid at the minimum of the salary range or no higher than the first quartile of the salary range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, and other department needs.

POSITION SUMMARY
At the Department of Cemeteries and Mortuaries of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, we are passionate about our belief in our corporal work of mercy and in our commitment to our ministry of providing expert knowledge and leadership in the preplanning of cemetery and mortuary arrangements.
As a non-selling manager of the preplanning team, the Preplanning Location Manager provides daily support to the Preplanning Team by managing the department and represents the Archdiocese of Los Angeles while helping families and staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Because all Archdiocesan employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work.
  • Responsible for developing a quality professional sales team that follows the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Non-selling manager of preplanning counselors reporting to the Director of Preplanning Manager.
  • Responsible for properly managing all leads, sales activities, and sales results.
  • Create and maintain high standards of ethics, quality, and service in all areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure direct reports understand their individual responsibilities and authority.
  • Create a productive environment with consistent supervision, development, and motivation of staff.
  • Responsible for achieving sales targets with quality of sales production for assigned preplanning team.
  • Create individual improvement plans including personalized training, mentoring, and coaching for direct reports.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training of preplanning counselors within assigned preplanning team.
  • Direct, Oversee & Conduct regular sales/training meetings – covering such items as sales techniques, sales achievements, new policies, products contract or sales goals, or achievements, etc.
  • Recommend and implement disciplinary actions.
  • Participate in the weekly location management meetings within region to discuss successes and areas of improvement at the location.
  • Create work schedules for preplanning team members.
  • Promote cooperation and teambuilding with all cemetery departments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
  • Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically:
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent business or sales experience equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in direct sales management with consistent sales performance.
  • History of positive leadership, good judgment, and management skills.
  • History of recruiting, hiring, and training and retaining sales team members.
  • History of meeting/exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in all aspects of the sales cycle.
  • Experience in customer service and conflict resolution.
  • Experience in developing action plans and activity tracking systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Self-starter, flexible, challenge oriented and personable.
  • Excellent motivation and training skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and create a team atmosphere.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
  • Experience using software systems such as CRM, Salesforce, Premier Suites, or MIS.
  • Availability and willingness to travel daily within the Archdiocese of Los Angeles area, occasional overnight stay may be required.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Ability to frequently exert up to 10 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Retrieve or file documents from 4-drawer-cabinets 5 feet high.
  • Reach above shoulder level or crouch to retrieve documents or materials from upper drawers, cabinets or shelves or crouch to reach lower drawers, or shelves.
  • Perform tasks requiring intermittent bending, stooping, and walking.
  • Sustain frequent movement of the fingers, wrists, hands, and arms.
  • Long periods of sitting, standing and/or walking.
