Archdiocese of Detroit is Hiring a Music Teacher (Shared Time) Near Saint Clair, MI

St. Joan of Arc is looking for a shared-time Music Teacher. This position involves teaching Music weekly to Grades K through 8. The candidate would report to St. Joan of Arc but would be employed through a third-party employer, SES. This position would require the teacher to be at St. Joan of Arc 3 days per week for 18 sections (two classes per grade).
The teacher candidate should be able to:
  • Support the mission and vision of St. Joan of Arc Catholic School.
  • Create a consistently high level of student engagement and learning.
  • Be capable of teaching a range of Music to students, with the goal of giving two performances (one at Christmas and Easter).
  • Differentiate instruction within the classroom to meet the needs of all students.
  • Establish positive relationships with students.
  • Maintain a consistent disciplinary approach that promotes self-direction and confidence by setting high standards for student behavior and effectively managing inappropriate behavior.
  • Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues.
  • As needed, cooperate with school administration to complete additional operational and professional responsibilities and duties.
All teachers shall be approved for teaching by the Department of Education for the State of Michigan and required to have a valid Michigan teaching certificate (Elementary or Secondary Education) with experience teaching Music to grade schools and/or middle schools.
The candidate must complete all requirements by the third-party employer.
