Director, Loyola Work Experience ProgramPOSITION STATUS: Full-Time, 12-Month
REPORTS TO: Principal
START DATE: July 1, 2024
POSITION SUMMARY:
Loyola Work Experience Program is a work-study program mandatory for all juniors and seniors giving them the opportunity to develop and use personal and professional skills in a real-world workplace environment. The Director collaborates with students, corporate partners, drivers, teachers, and other members of the school staff to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Program.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Student Formation
  • Manage and supervise daily activities of the LWEP interns, including setting job performance goals and expectations in conjunction with corporate partners.
  • Ensure that students learn the value of attendance, punctuality, professional workplace behavior and accountability for accomplishing tasks fully and on time.
  • Proactively address student behavioral issues with redirection, retraining, and if necessary, disciplinary action consistent with school policies.
  • Track key metrics for students including attendance, on-time attendance, and partner ratings that feed into a final grade for each quarter.
Partner Retention
  • Ensure excellent relationships and responsiveness with the key supervisors at each corporate partner.
  • Continuous and consistent communication with partners and interns on job performance.
  • Retain LWEP positions with existing LWEP partners and recruit new LWEP positions from existing partners.
  • Organize annual Partner Appreciation Awards Breakfast.
  • Provide information and support to Development Team to assist with securing new LWEP paid jobs
Program Management
  • Create an annual business plan expense budget. Achieve annual revenue targets from retained partners as assigned by the Principal and President.
  • Develop objectives, strategies, and measures to achieve the plan.
  • Design and coordinate training sessions to be held before the start of fall term.
  • Design and coordinate orientation for all juniors, new seniors, and parents in the summer before school starts.
  • Design and coordinate 10th grade LWEP orientation to be presented in March.
  • Determine the continuous needs of partners and evaluate student skills for job placements.
  • Visit each partner personally every 3 months for communication and evaluation. Compile and review data from partners on student preparation, attendance, attire and job performance to ensure partner and student satisfaction.
Fleet/Driver Management
  • Create a yearly transportation calendar with student assigned partners to be shared with partners, students and faculty.
  • Produce a daily schedule with driver routes, partner locations and contact information (7am to 4pm).
  • Monitor and evaluate driver performance to ensure compliance with the safety, daily schedule and program goals.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrate scheduling and time management abilities along with good organizational skills.
  • Possess excellent listening and communication skills with all stakeholders.
  • Strong moral center, honest and trustworthy.
  • Self-confident and inspires confidence in others.
  • Capable of providing strong leadership and discipline with students, while working collaboratively with teachers and other Loyola staff members.
  • Possesses a strong decision-making style.
  • Enjoy working with male high school students.
  • High enthusiasm for the mission of Loyola High School.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, or related field.
  • Business experience and demonstrated success in corporate or non-profit sales and management, including customer relations management preferred.
  • Experience working with teens and or young adults is also preferred.
