St. Thecla Catholic School is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time kindergarten teacher position for the 2024-2025 school year.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum), including all courses and state tests needed to meet credential requirements
- Catechist certification is required for all teachers of religion (may be completed within one year of hire)
- Before working with students, all teachers must undergo fingerprinting, a background check, and complete the Protecting God’s Children training. This training underscores our commitment to ensuring our students a safe and secure environment.
- Catholic Faith and practices, lessons and activities for young children
- Child development theory and practice
- Kindergarten curriculum requirements
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- A willingness to collaborate with the elementary team and the professional learning community at large.
- Management of a safe and nurturing environment
- Establishment of a classroom environment that develops the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of children entrusted to their care
- Development of relationships with parents to encourage communication about their child's growth and development
- Provide positive guidance to students and parents.
