The facilities and security operator for St. Francis and St. Claire Parishes is a full-time position which
reports directly to the pastor. He/she is responsible for the overall care and maintenance of all the
buildings and grounds of St. Francis Parish and St. Claire Parish, Braintree. There are five buildings in
total: two Churches, two rectories and one school building (currently closed).
The responsibilities for the facilities manager are:

• Maintain the five buildings of the collaborative with particular attention to heating, air-conditioning, plumbing and electrical, security and alarm systems
• Keep appliances in working order
• Maintain sound system in Churches
• Oversee the cleaning staff of the five buildings
• Attend to all repairs
• Calls in contractors when necessary
• Works with staff, collaborative council and Archdiocese for safe environment
• Oversee the care of the grounds working with contractors
• Oversee snow removal working with contractors
• Maintains an attractive look to the Churches
• Liaison with the Town of Braintree for all matters of permits, licenses and inspections
• Liaison with the Archdiocese for all matters of pertaining to the property
• Work with volunteers for the purpose of decorating the Church
• Keeps track and orders cleaning supplies, candles, wine, hosts, and other liturgical supplies
• Attends all staff meetings
• Makes reports when necessary to the Collaborative Council and Parish Councils

Qualifications

• A working knowledge of basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical
• Is able to lift 50 pounds
• Able to climb 30 foot ladder
• Experience in overseeing building maintenance
• Supports the mission of the Catholic Church
• Pass a Massachusetts CORI
• Certification in Archdiocesan safe environment
