The Archdiocese of Baltimore is seeking a Coordinator for the Office of Life, Justice, and Peace. The Coordinator supports both advocacy and outreach initiatives within Respect Life ministries, Deaf ministries, and Disabilities ministries.

Essential Functions:

• Promotes on all levels within the Archdiocese the Church’s foundational stance of respect for the dignity of all human life at every stage of existence from conception through natural death.
• Provide educational and promotional materials as well as regular updates to parish and community leaders working in Respect Life and Social Justice Ministries.
• Promotes Project Rachel Post- abortive Healing Ministry and the Holy Innocents Miscarriage Ministry throughout the Archdiocese.
• Oversees Camp Glow at the parish and diocesan levels.
• Assists with event planning for Life, Justice, and Peace workshops and retreats throughout the year.
• Coordinates sign language interpreters for diocesan events and assists parishes in the coordination of interpreters for Masses and other services.
• Coordinates ongoing formation and support for sign language interpreters.
• Curates and promotes materials for disabilities ministries and assists parish leaders with the renewal or creation of outreach to those with disabilities.
• Assists parishes with Safe Haven Sunday
• Curates current and accessible resources for all Life, Justice, and Peace ministries on the Archdiocesan website.
• Assists the Office of Parish Renewal and the Office of Family, Youth, and Young Adult Ministry in providing Life, Justice, and Peace resources to parish staff and volunteers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

• Must be a practicing Catholic able to participate in the Sacramental life of the Church.
• A College Degree with a medical and human behavior background (e.g. Theology, Social work, Psychology) is strongly preferred.
• Prior formal work experience in life and advocacy issues for persons with disabilities may be substituted for the degree.
• Must know theology and Catholic social teaching.
• Must have the ability to travel throughout the Archdiocese in the performance of job duties. Some evening and weekend work will be required.
• Fluency in ASL is a plus.
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
• Respect for and attentiveness to intercultural competency and openness to ongoing formation around cultural biases, particularly in a church setting.
• Guiding and influencing people to accomplish specific goals and objectives.
• Communication, including written, verbal, and public speaking, including making presentations in public.
