Archbishop Spalding High School is accepting applications for the position of Engineering teacher for the 2024-2025 academic year. The engineering teacher will design and develop course materials, including lesson plans, presentations, and tests. They also work closely with instructional designers to modify course curricula and training materials. They mentor students, providing them with the necessary support to excel in their academic careers.

Essential Functions:

• Plan and deliver engaging age-appropriate lessons.
• Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
• Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
• Strive to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of every student.
• Communicate effectively with parents, responding to inquiries in an empathetic and timely manner.
• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, parents, and community members in educating students.

Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with CAD, 3D printing, CNC machines, and VEX Robotics platform
• A strong desire to collaborate with colleagues to develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
• Strong proficiency in utilizing digital or online platforms, specifically Google Suite and Canvas
• Enthusiasm for working with adolescents
• A deep understanding of adolescent pedagogy and development
• A desire to grow through reflective professional practice
• A desire to build a community of connection and belonging
• Project Lead the Way (PLTW) certification in engineering courses is preferred, but not required. Curriculum training is available.
